Well it has been a while, but I have been very busy. Being 2 I don't have much time to sit down and write. There are so many things to do, that I don't even like to go to bed. My hobbies include playing at the park, going to the ocean and playing with my animals, and watching my dad play baseball. There has been some big changes in our house lately. Last week my baby sister was born. Here is a picture of me with her. I have so much to show, but all she wants to do right now is sleep. I love you Abigail.

March Madness

Well, it is that time of year again. The snow is melting, robins come back from their winter vacation and March Madness begins to take over the country. This year I decided to take part in Eric's world famous NCAA basketball bracket contest. My Final Four picks are Kansas, Connecticut, Oklahoma, and Duke. With the Huskies of UConn winning it all. Eric, you might as well just send me the prize now.

P.S. Go Michigan.
P.S.S. I'm sorry Mommy that your team, Kansas St. didn't make the tournament. There is always next year.

Do you have a pet Dinosaur?

I would like you to meet Kota. This past spring while my daddy and I were planting our tomato plants, we discovered this huge, smooth dinosaur egg. We carefully removed it from the soil and brought it in to show mommy. I was so excited and started dreaming of all the places I would go and do with my future dinosaur. Mommy, however, said it was just a rock and to throw it outside because we don't need it in the house. Daddy and I had other plans. We brought the egg downstairs into the basement and constructed a home-made incubator. Then we waited and waited and waited. Daddy was getting inpatient but I reminded him the egg was very, very old and would take extra time to hatch. After months of caring and caressing the dinosaur egg the wait was over. Kota, my very own triceratops had emerged and was roaming through the basement. I was a little scared at first, because I didn't know what would happen. Once he saw me his tail started wagging and he stomped over to me. Kota gave a quick roar and then licked my face. We have been inseparable since.

Who writes this blog?

There has been some questioning on who writes this blog about me. I hope this picture gives you a hint. Did you know that mommy and daddy didn't even know I had a blog until someone blabbed their mouth at a Christmas party? If only they knew some of the other things I do.

McDonalds and Chucky Cheese are jealous of me

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. For Christmas my daddy gave me a soccer ball pit. It is awesome. I can play soccer in my little arena or put all the balls in and just jump right in and swim around like Scrooge McDuck with his money. Mommy isn't the happiest that it is over 7 feet long and takes up almost half of the living room, but I think she is just made that she lost to me in soccer. Anyways I am desiginating our house as "T-Rex's Fun House", so come on over and lets play.

How should I wear my hat?

Let's Play some Football

Thanksgiving is coming up and this year we are going to Grandma and Grandpa Hansen's place. Do you know what the best part of Thanksgiving is?

Turkey - no
pumpkin pie - no
mashed potatoes - close, but no
Football - yes, yes, yes

I have been practicing with my dad. As you can see in the picture I am the next Boomer Esiason. This year it will be Dad, Grandpa, and I taking on Uncle Luke and Lee and Cousins Lauryn and Jackson. I just hope there is snow on the ground to make it even more fun. Anyways, I hope you all have a great Turkey day. Gobble Gobble

Pumpkin Patch

Look at all of these pumpkins. I need to find the perfect one. I searched high and low.

Daddy, daddy look. How about this one?

Dad and I with the perfect pumpkin.

Lincoln Park Zoo

Last weekend we decided to go to the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. It was fun, I got to see the tigers, penguins, a very tall giraffe, monkeys and many other exciting animals. Then there was the lions. One came out and started to roar and roar and roar. It was very loud.

For my birthday Mommy and Daddy bought me a basketball hoop. It is so much fun slam dunking the basketball. Pretty soon I will be dunking all over the place like my daddy.

Happy Birthday to Me

Soccer anyone

Look at my soccer skills so far. Daddy is preparing me for the soccer leagues in the nursery at church. I am already the best in my age group, but then again most kids my age aren't even walking yet.

I'm Back

Well I am back. It has been a while since I have updated this blog, but we have been busy and on the go lately. We have been to St. Louis, The Pines -2x and Kansas over the past month. So this past weekend Mommy and Daddy decided to take it easy and stay close to home. As Daddy was munching on some blueberries, he thought it would be a great idea to go pick some blueberries. After convincing Mommy that it was actually fun picking blueberries we were off. Off to Blue Sky Berry farm in Wanatah, IN. Well, picking blueberries was fun for the first 10 seconds and then I got bored. Not much too see other than rows and rows of blueberry bushes and a few other crazy people. 20 minutes in Mommy thought she was going to die of heat stroke and we still were only about half way done. Finally after what seemed like hours and hours we were finally done. We had 2 full buckets (12 lbs) of big, juicy blueberries. Now I can't wait to have my Cheerios topped with blueberries. yummie, yummie, in my tummy.

I am 9 months old

I have been in the outside world now, just as long as I was in my mommy's tummy. The other day I had my 9 month check-up and all looks well. I am 18.1 lbs (15th percentile), 28.25 inches (55th), and head size 45 cm (45th). I am also getting 4 of my upper teeth. This has been very, very painful and I would like to say to mommy I am sorry for being so crabby. I love you mommy.

Ginger's Inn

Today, I decided to check out Ginger's crib. She always sits there crying when mommy or daddy put her in there, so I figured it must be terrible. However, it wasn't too bad. Kind of roomy. There were plenty of toys and even a bone to chew on. Dad always makes sure Pete the Penguin and Buddy the Stretch Dog are in there to comfort her. This blanket even though not my color (pink) is quite soft. In the picture I am trying to explain to Ginger how she can make her "crib" more exciting. She, however, didn't care and tried to close the door on me.

Dreaming.....

T-Rex: What a beautiful day it is out there, isn't it?
Ginger: Arf, arf, aaaaarf (beautiful, beautiful, beauuuuutiful).... I'll give you my next Milkbone if you open the door for us.
T-Rex: I don't think Milkbones are in my diet yet.
Ginger: True, but cheerios and bananas aren't in my diet, and you freely give them to me.
T-Rex: Shhh, don't let mommy hear that. Anyways what would you do if I let you out?
Ginger: I would run, run, run and let the wind blow in my face. Plus there are a couple of friends (dogs) that I haven't visited in a while. What would you do?
T-Rex: I would climb that big tree over there. I'm a good climber you know.
Ginger: I know. So how about opening the door and let's go out and have some fun.
T-Rex: Well, I would except we have a couple of problems. I'm not tall enough to reach the door handle, and you don't have any opposable thumbs.
Ginger: I guess we will have to just stand here and keep dreaming then.

Tons of Fun

This weekend my Mommy and Daddy took me to the "The Pines" to go camping for Memorial Day. We camped in a tent and ate hot dogs and hobo pies over the fire. Well Mommy and Daddy had them, I ate my usual fruits and veggies, but next year I will try them. It was an exciting time. I got to spend the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa along with my cousins Jackson and Lauryn. There were many things I did for the first time in my life and I can't wait to do them again. I went swimming in the lake and the pool and built a sand castle. We went to the park and I swung on the swings and had many trips down the slide with Daddy. Later we went to the Ice Cream parlor and I stole some ice cream from Grandma when she wasn't looking (later Dad gave me some Superman ice cream.) The ice cream was good but very, very cold. Overall camping was tons of fun and pooped me out, so I slept all the way home.

Go Cubbies Go

I went to my first Cubs game this weekend. The excitement first started when we rode the shuttle to the Game. I was getting everyone on the bus ready for the game. We started the wave and jumped up and down on the bus. After we got off the bus I saw the famous Wrigley Field sign. The whole stadium was huge, and tons of people with matching shirts. We finally got to our seats and then I could see the whole field. Pretty awesome, with the ivy growing on the walls and the old fashion scoreboard. I was hoping for someone to hit a homerun, but no one did. I know if my Daddy was playing he would have a hit a homerun for me. In the 7th inning we all stood up and sang "Take me out to the ball game". I was hoping for some peanuts and cracker jacks like the song says, but I was only given cheerios. I did, however, sneak a bite of cotton candy from Mommy when she wasn't looking. Well the game came down to the end with the Cubs winning 4-3. It was a good day for me and the 1st place Cubs.

Ode to Puffs

I love to eat my puffs
They make me strong and buff

They are so crunchy and small
I think I can eat them all

I stuff them in my face
Thinking it is a race

My daddy and Ginger love them too
But I only give them a few

Oh no, they're all gone
Oh well, let's go sing a song

Look at me, I can walk

I have a new toy. The Hungry Hungry Hippo. It's blue and picks (eats) up my toys that I leave scattered all over the floor. Before I would just leave them everywhere. Mommy would get mad because Ginger thought they were her toys too and would try to play with them. Now I just go zoom zoom in my Hungry Hungry Hippo machine and they are all picked up. Whew that was hard but now the floor is clean as a whistle.

Foods I have tried so far:

  • Apples - mmm, keeps the doctor away (and that means no shots)
  • Avacado - I'm not quite sure yet
  • Breastmilk - it does the body good
  • Formula - disgusting, who made this artificial stuff!!
  • Pears - sweet and delicious
  • Rice Cereal - Can I have more?
  • Sweet Peas - Yuck, who thought I would like this!!!
  • Sweet Potatoes - yum yum
